BIOGRAPHY
About me? Well, I was born in St. Louis, grew up in Cleveland, and have lived in Baltimore since ’96. I graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002, and have been a freelance musician and artist since.
Back in the third grade, I was one of the biggest nuisances in the classroom. I couldn’t sit still and I couldn’t stop talking. My teacher, Mrs. Watts, then stumbled upon an ingenious idea. She figured out that if I had a sketch book with me during class, not only was I quiet, but I also started absorbing what was being taught.
Many sketch books later, I’ve realized why I am an artist. It’s simple. I’m a better person because of it.
Most of my major influences are musicians and painters:
John Singer Sargent
The Slip
Velasquez
Bill Waterson (Calvin and Hobbes)
Mr. J (my high school art teacher)
And most of all... My wife and son
These are just a few of them for the time being.
I have a visual arts and music background.
